Love Island: Why Megan Barton Hanson is making the haters eat humble pie

There were a number of the Islanders that really divided opinion with the viewers.
The Love Island villa was never going to be a place for shrinking violets and most of those on the ITV2 show would have done anything for love (and a share of a £50,000 pay packet).
Dr Alex started as a people's champion, with his gentlemanly manner but lost the respect of the public as he ran away when a relationship looked like it might step up a level.
Adam was accused of gaslighting and Laura Anderson was spectacularly dumped, twice, before finding her man as time in the villa came to a close.
Then there was Megan.
She took a nibble from various dishes before decided which one she liked
Her bed-hopping behaviour at the start of her stay in the villa was enough for a lot of viewers and social media commentators to condemn her forever.
She took a nibble from various dishes before decided which one she liked but even when she made her choice, it wasn't really her true path.

When Wes walked back in from Casa Amor as a singleton, Megan finally felt the full force of cupid's arrow.
It may have been love at third sight but all of a sudden she opened her eyes to a future outside the villa and that Wes could be the man that she's been searching for.
Of course, there were plenty of cynics that threw stones and called the move out as a way to ensure her survival in the villa.
With the tabloids raging about her past as a stripper and working on some dodgy websites, the shredding of Megan's character was well underway.
She was a villain and we were tasked with taking her down any way possible.
There was just a small issue though. She seemed to genuinely like Wes and the feeling seemed to be mutual.
It started to feel that trying to rip up true love's path was a callous thing to do.
Of course, that didn't stop people trying and there was a collective 'fingers crossed' that the coupling would crash and burn the moment that returned to the UK.
Slight problem though, it hasn't.
The haters tried to hate but love has conquered all and now humble pie has been baked
Not only that, Megan has even cancelled all her personal appearances and turn her back on a stack of cash, so that she could focus on Wes and their relationship.
This wasn't what the script was supposed to be and a begrudging respect is now being shared in Facebook groups at the misconception of Megan's morals.
The haters tried to hate but love has conquered all and now humble pie has been baked and is ready to be served.
There has been a determination that Megan was a bad 'un but maybe she has finished going up dead ends and has found the right road to fulfilment and happiness.
Who could begrudge her that and good luck to her. Anyone want a fork for their pie?

Celebrity Big Brother: What needs to happen to stop this series being the worst ever

No matter what you think of the antics of Natalie Nunn and Rodrigo Alves, it is safe to say that this series of Celebrity Big Brother has lost two of the biggest characters in the house. The problem that the Channel 5 reality TV series has now is that it could take too long to find its feet again and find fans of the show turning off. Who really wants a house where there is peace and harmony among its residents Natalie was easily the most controversial housemate this time around and her bullying and confrontational style left a lot to be desired. Her behaviour though, is surely what the bosses had paid the money to see. Who really wants a house where there is peace and harmony among its residents. Read more: Natalie's eviction from CBB proves viewers' moral compass is more on track than hers Another week of Natalie would've certainly broken some of her fellow housemates and the essence of CBB would've been preserved. The question is, who will step up and provid...

Loose Women? Loose morals more like after hypocritical handling of Kim Woodburn

There are many that will think that Kim Woodburn has a lot coming to her, after a fiery Celebrity Big Brother stint and some noticeable public outbursts since. Whilst she is a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to live television, it is clear that she has had a lot to contend with as she battles demons of her own. So, it would seem slightly unfair that the producers would try to exploit her renown temperament in a veiled attempt of serious debate. From the moment the idea was muted of bringing Kim in to face her CBB nemesis Coleen Nolan, for 'clear-the-air' talks, it was probably privately hoped that she would kick-off. All involved with Loose Women must have been rubbing their hands in delight as the drama unfolded and Kim stormed off set, sending social media into a frenzy. It was unfair that producers looked to exploit Kim's temperament It was soon apparent though that this was not the most savoury incident to ever happen on the ITV daytime show. Public opini...

Celebrity Big Brother: Why the 'Banter Notes' should see Jermaine removed from the house

Morality is often low down on the list of priorities for the celebrities that enter the Big Brother house but there are times when the motives of the housemates need to be addressed. The eviction of Chloe Ayling was probably the right choice if this series is going to drag itself off the floor but her treatment by Jermaine Pennant should see the former footballer following her straight out the door. Controversy is what keeps the Channel 5 going and after Natalie Nunn was dumped in the public vote, there was a huge personality gap in the house. This was compounded by Rodrigo's removal, so there was a desperate need for someone to start the tongues wagging. What we didn't need though was Jermaine showing that he could have a bit of adulterous fun, just to brush it off as a bit of banter. After Chloe revealed all to the housemates about why they are on basic food rations and what was written in the secret communications between her and Jermaine, his reaction was more dis...
